Abstract

The paper explores the question of the real in found footage films starting by the difference between “reality” and “real” according to Lacan. The increasing practices of recycling films are places for new semantic mediations of the image and they open unknown and innovative theoretical questions, going beyond the ostensible coherence of the “natural image” and the profusion of “reality’s effects” granted by the cinematographic device.
