The perception of color is usually done in a different manner from person to person, based on an infinite number of parameters. One concerns the age and gender of the perceiver. In more precise terms, leaving out many variables, age and gender of human beings affect the liking of color, and then the resulting behavior. Basically the discrimination occurs in natural terms as well as the environmental and historical-cultural ones. In order to understand the level of reliability of the hypothesis just mentioned it was decided to perform an experiment by applying certain rules of color choice on a preschool and study the behavior of users. That experiment is taking place in the requalification of a kindergarten color environment on the town of Verona, made by a research group, lead Katia Gasparini, of the Research Unit “Colour and Light in Architecture” of the University Iuav of Venice. The presence of pupils aged between 3 and 5 years, their teachers and parents is a good enough sample to understand the dynamics that the color causes in the behavior and interpretation of it. The validation of the assumptions that underlie this research will take place on other schools in the same town. In the paper will be clarified the assumptions underlying the colour project of this case study.
