The aim of this paper is to propose a simplified method for seismic vulnerability assessment of complex buildings as well as of aggregated buildings in historical centers. This approach is based on the LV1 method proposed in the code D.P.C.M.2011 combined with some suitable forms/data sheets. In detail, at historical center level (LV0), two different forms are proposed, which do not require on-site survey. Then the first vulnerability matrix A1 is created which allows to highlight the most critical situations in the analyzed territory and establish priorities for the further phases of evaluation. These phases require the adoption of a further form, at level LV0*, and the creation of the more detailed vulnerability matrix A2 A2-matrix aims to identify the most vulnerable aggregates for which are necessary detailed analyses (at LV1 level) and the planning of future interventions. Finally the B-matrix is defined through the compilation of some LV1-forms, concerning both the aggregated building and the masonry techniques. The information given by the matrix B can be used to modify the evaluation of safety index performed with a simplified mechanical model, obtained on the base of LV1-Palace method (D.P.C.M.2011) and modified due to the effects induced by interacting adjacent buildings.
