The national pavillions at the Venice Biennale have suffered for some 30 years in being considered an old structure, linkeed to the notion of Nation born and developped in the XIX century. In fact, the increasing number of national pavillion in the Venice Biennale is going in the opposite direction. Even if it is necessary not to be naive, and to reconsider all the nations without state and the complexity of the idea of nation, the new geopoliyical cultural diplomacy leads to a reconsideration of the big international shows as places for negotiations and axchange of differencies.
