The objective of the intensive workshop is to propose integrated solutions of design for that extraordinary place. Abstract
The programme offered an intensive workshop of designing, focused on the redevelopment of production sites built-in urban context, recognizable for their relevant architectural and landscaping value. The designing in particular faced problems in the redevelopment of a complex of historical and cultural interest related to water landscapes, in a spatial frame defined both by productive processes out-dated and by ancient uses which have left unresolved spaces in the city but with significant potential. The need to define enhancement processes that include and protect the architectural and landscape values of a regulating structure that recognizes places built by technical forms peculiar of production, imposes nowadays capacity of reinterpreting with proper and sustainable programmes which truths prefiguring an urban or territorial role. The designing for these places should express its inclusive aptitude and of innovation aimed at giving quality to the strategic transformations. The chosen place of great cultural value, as of vital importance for the transformation of the city of Venice, is the Historical Shipyard, the Arsenale. The objective of the intensive workshop is to propose integrated solutions of design for that extraordinary place. In particular it will be the subject of study and reuse project those interstitial spaces and buildings of the Arsenale still to be recovered both in relation to the city and the lagoon landscape, as well to those parts occupied by the Navy, or the spaces and activities of the Magistrato alle Acque, Municipality of Venice, La Biennale and the other different societies of research and production that there are settled.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
