Abstract
From the classic question: "Who governs?" which animated for at least two decades, the debate between the different currents of urban sociology (derived from elitist, pluralist and neo-Marxist), the volume is dedicated, in the first part, some of main approaches to the founding of the discipline. In particular, it highlights the growing importance of cities as priority targets for sociological research, by which to measure the regulatory processes and the interactions between social actors. In the second part, the book shows some recent developments in the disciplinary debate. Among these, particular interest are those who consider the city not only as a methodological optimal areas for the development of social analysis, but, rather, pay specific attention to the mechanisms of government and social regulation built around the processes of transformation of urban space. In this case, the classic question: "Who governs?" it joins with another, equally important, "to do what?"I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
