The author deals with a phenomenology of the exhibiting as seen trough the prism of lighting. He traces different régimes of visibility, questioning their ability to produce knowledge ("enlighten") of certain objects beyond their merely aesthetic presentation. He thus proposes a genealogy of different types of lighting, mentioning figures of thoughts and works by, among others, Eisenstein, Dalì, Pasolini; with special reference to Merlau-Ponty's phenomenology.
