The recent building crisis, the residential surplus com- bined with the demographic slump, and the policies of local government (which are not always focused and efficient) have led to a slow and inexorable de- cline in our built environment. This is especially true for historic centres, considered “minor” for their lack of strategic, artistic or environmental characteristics. The neglect is the result of general and significant changes encompassing economic, social and – above all – spatial spheres. The phenomenon of neglect takes on many forms, some of which cannot be defined us- ing the grammar of easily classifiable spatial features and morphologies.

Abstract
The recent building crisis, the residential surplus com- bined with the demographic slump, and the policies of local government (which are not always focused and efficient) have led to a slow and inexorable de- cline in our built environment. This is especially true for historic centres, considered “minor” for their lack of strategic, artistic or environmental characteristics. The neglect is the result of general and significant changes encompassing economic, social and – above all – spatial spheres. The phenomenon of neglect takes on many forms, some of which cannot be defined us- ing the grammar of easily classifiable spatial features and morphologies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
