This research is structured starting from an analysis about the differences between ruins and rubble. Then the study becomes more and more demonstrative about a condition of things showing, through cartographic, historical, urban and regional surveys, different stories of cities destroyed by acts of war, since the Second world war until more recent conflicts with the war in the Balkans, with the military of Sarajevo, and the war in Lebanon with the city of Beirut. A study, in particular, directed toward understanding what is the ‘real landscape’, telling its story, its matter, where and how to dispose the rubble of the destroyed city. After any conflict, the city becomes ‘ruins’ in a different sense and achieves other scenarios, more or less stratified with the formation of: artificial hills, soil where the water was, so revealing a post war urban image, a historical story that, in fact, becomes the ‘grouond’ and perhaps even a ‘monument’ to the devastation of war.

Abstract
This research is structured starting from an analysis about the differences between ruins and rubble. Then the study becomes more and more demonstrative about a condition of things showing, through cartographic, historical, urban and regional surveys, different stories of cities destroyed by acts of war, since the Second world war until more recent conflicts with the war in the Balkans, with the military of Sarajevo, and the war in Lebanon with the city of Beirut. A study, in particular, directed toward understanding what is the ‘real landscape’, telling its story, its matter, where and how to dispose the rubble of the destroyed city. After any conflict, the city becomes ‘ruins’ in a different sense and achieves other scenarios, more or less stratified with the formation of: artificial hills, soil where the water was, so revealing a post war urban image, a historical story that, in fact, becomes the ‘grouond’ and perhaps even a ‘monument’ to the devastation of war.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
