Nel suo poliedrico divenire, la laguna di Venezia rappresenta un campo di ricerca e di sperimentazione privilegiato, utile a indagare tracce documentarie, materiali e immateriali del suo passato e delle sue interconnessioni con lo spazio adriatico. Quest'ultimo, inteso non solo nella sua dimensione marittima ma anche nella sua interfaccia costiera e terrestre, ha favorito il transito di persone e di oggetti, ma anche di eroi e di santi, nonché di fabulae scritte o trasmesse oralmente, che hanno arricchito la storia adriatica e segnatamente quella veneziana. Attraverso contributi multidisciplinari, il volume dà conto delle tematiche presentate fra il 2022 e il 2024 nelle sale della Biblioteca Marciana e della Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista di Venezia, cui si affiancano altri studi e ricerche attinenti alla laguna, da sempre fucina straordinaria di saperi e prospettive fra passato, presente e futuro. In its multifaceted evolution, the Venice lagoon serves as a privileged field of research and experimentation, offering a valuable framework for exploring the documentary, material, and immaterial traces of its past and its interconnections with the Adriatic region. The latter, understood not only in its maritime dimension but also in its coastal and terrestrial interface, has facilitated the transit of people and objects, as well as heroes and saints, and of written or orally transmitted tales, which have enriched Adriatic history and, in particular, Venetian history. Through multidisciplinary contributions, this volume presents the themes discussed between 2022 and 2024 in the halls of the Marciana Library and the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice, alongside other studies and research pertaining to the lagoon, which has always been an extraordinary crucible of knowledge and perspectives spanning the past, present, and future.
