This book collects a series of reflections, investigations, comparisons and scenarios for the Po river delta, a fragile territory of paradox and dilemmas, as characteristics that are shared and experienced by many other deltaic territories. It is for this reason that the work herein produced is presented as an interpretative project endeavour from which other fragile territories can learn as a useful reference case. An Atlas proposes an analytic summary regarding some key characteristics of certain deltaic territories in Europe. Some Community Maps represents the perception that the inhabitants have of their territory. Two Scenarios propose future prospects based on the specific features and characteristics of the investigated locations in order to generate virtuous uses of the territory’s intrinsic fragilities.
