Abstract
The control of the microclimate inside a building of historical and artistic interest is a relevant topic that needs to be addressed and handled with great care. Moreover, in high-traffic areas anthropogenic such as churches, must also be considered aspects related to comfort, air quality and fire safety. Recently it has been widespread in the historic churches the use of radiant heating systems direct combustion, thanks to the advantages that this system has in the climate control of large dimensions. The purpose of this paper is to present the indications for improvement and some guidelines for the installation and operation of radiant systems to direct combustion. They discussed some important aspects such as the need for ventilation, the temperature distribution and fire safety.
