The article is connected to a research developed by the author and the Benetton Foundation on a group of villages and their landscapes situated near Srebrenica, on the edge between Serbia and Bosnia, completely destroyed by the Bosnian War between 1992 and 1995. After twenties year, a group of young habitants have returned to that villages with the intention of cultivate the land and overcome old barriers of ethnicity and religious prejudices. The essay, connected to the International Carlo Scarpa Prize researches and activities, investigate on the meaning of this process of re-cultivate fields and pastures as an effort to beginning to manifest yourself in the landscape and on the meaning of “landscape project” in the European contemporary society

Abstract
