The mixed-use redevelopment of waterfronts has become in recent decades an fundamental aspect, a very widespread, but rather complex of the urban revitalization. A process that represents, without a doubt, a significant real estate opportunity. To arouse a special interest are the brownfield sites along the waterfront whose complexity often induces operators to seek specific strategies and solutions for dealing with the process of remediating and redeveloping. Particularly the contaminated sites, rehabilitated and restored to new functional uses, have been recognized over the past 20 years as a key and a tool to promoting sustainable reuse of urban land and avoiding excessive consumption of soil. The availability of areas overlooking the water has led in different experiences to the increase residential, recreational and commercial use, with particular attention to market changes, environmental issues and maritime activities. Abstract

The experience and expertise are particularly useful, but the replication of processes and solutions that have worked in the past may not be sufficient to ensure the success of any project, which remains in any casa a unique project to its specific characteristics.
