The valuation of carbon emissions is a relevant issue in transport planning. The Impact Assessment Models (IAMs) are adopted to obtain a fair price, but they provide a range of six orders of magnitude. We propose an integrative approach, based on the Multiple Agent Multi Criteria Decision Making (MAMCDM). The development of this methodology reveals some interesting potential: the coexistence of a technical approach (provided by IAMs) and a sociological analysis (deriving from MAMCDM) seems to grant a less conflicting and shared value of CO2 emissions, thus contributing to reduce the uncertainties and to limit the range of values.

Abstract
The valuation of carbon emissions is a relevant issue in transport planning. The Impact Assessment Models (IAMs) are adopted to obtain a fair price, but they provide a range of six orders of magnitude. We propose an integrative approach, based on the Multiple Agent Multi Criteria Decision Making (MAMCDM). The development of this methodology reveals some interesting potential: the coexistence of a technical approach (provided by IAMs) and a sociological analysis (deriving from MAMCDM) seems to grant a less conflicting and shared value of CO2 emissions, thus contributing to reduce the uncertainties and to limit the range of values.File in questo prodotto:
