The paper proposes an analysis of some of the works of the French artist Adel Abdessemed, through the methodologic and epistemologic lense of Jurji Lotman's Theory of culture. The Lotmanian idea of a generation of cultural meaning through 'explosive' dynamics and the theoretical issues of his visual rhetorics are examined through the inner articulations of the artistic works mentioned above.
