What was there, and what will there be in store for an oblique architecture in the modern and contemporary world? The multiplicity of projects based on unusual spatial solutions and configurative choices pushed to the limits of what is buildable and way beyond those same limits, the stylistic and tectonic manipulations allowed by the massive use of computer programming and digital modelling are all hints of creative freedom and anarchy. This is where solutions in line with anamorphic visual and perceptive strategies could be found. This research deals with reflections on the theoretical premises of contemporary oblique architecture. Since the second half of the 20th century, these reflections have been the basis of refined studies. Such studies have been undertaken by artists interested – with both their theoretical and creative works – in the geometrical examination of the projective and historical origins of lines that tilt unexpectedly, angles that break the rules of squareness, and surfaces that collapse on adjacent ones, thus creating a sense of precarious instability.

Abstract
Such studies have been undertaken by artists interested – with both their theoretical and creative works – in the geometrical examination of the projective and historical origins of lines that tilt unexpectedly, angles that break the rules of squareness, and surfaces that collapse on adjacent ones, thus creating a sense of precarious instability.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
