The paper investigates the theme of autoriality in the Ferdinando Forlati’s oper- ational path undertaken in Venice during two world wars. What is emerging from is interventions and his approach strengthens his role in both the operational ac- tivities and the contents of their disclosure. In the Venetian period, Forlati con- tributes to overcome established beliefs and methods of intervention: in a phase still linked to stylistic reconstruction criteria, Forlati proposes an idea of restora- tion as action brindging culture and science. This certainty would have made un- acceptable, at least in theoretical terms, the founding of a clear separation between the figurative aspects and the structural features of the monument.
