Abstract

The risk that important heritage sites may disappear as a result of war, terrorism, natural disasters or abandonment is one of the emergencies of the beginning of the new century. As a reaction to this phenomenon, international attention is focused on the theme of the reconstruction, reproduction, cloning of the heritage. Ranging from architecture to archaeology and art, these operations are underpinned by digital scanning and numerically controlled reproduction technologies. An approach based on opposite precepts involves studying the theme of additions as a tool for conservation. The outcomes of the interventions define a space for reflection and experimentation dedicated to the language of contemporary architecture for conservation.
