“L’anima mia è pietra fra le pietre” : Topografia estetica di Dimitris Pikionis

Through the words taken from Dimitris Pikionis’ writings, a reconstruction of his biography and poetics is proposed. Pikionis' features as an intellectual, an architect, an artist, are sketched on the tracks of an aesthetic topography that has in Greece and in its - natural and artistic - landscape its reference text. "Stone” is a key word and a recurring image, both in a concrete and metaphorical sense, in Pikionis' work. “my soul” – he wrote – “is a stone amongst other stones”.
