Emil Mörsch and the truss analogy. The 100st anniversary of the Emil Mörsch appointment at the Technical University in Stuttgart. In 15 years the young Engineer Emil Mörsch became one of the most esteemed authority in the field of reinforced concrete: since 1901 head of the technical office of W&F, 1904‐08 professor at the ETH Zürich, Mörsch was appointed professor at the TH Stuttgart in 1st oct. 1916 establishing one of the most renown engineering school in Germany. In this period his most remarkable theoretical work, „Der Eisenbetonbau“, was published in three different editions, that witnessed his inexhaustible research activity. A central relevance has to be ascribed to his stay in Zürich, where Mörsch had the privilege to work in an international open milieu. The truss analogy perfected by Mörsch at this time represents a sort of bridge between foreign cultures and summarized a long historical development melting the best european engineering.
