Sacrifici in ambito domestico. Alcune esemplificazioni di età romana

The article offers some examples of sacrifices and votive deposits in domestic houses of Roman age, built both in ancient Italy and in the Roman Provinces. Firstly, the discussion starts from the offerings made for the foundation of the house, in some cases related with previous sacred spaces; secondly, the article proposes some cases of daily sacrifices and other ones that explain rituals connected with calendar sacred festivals; thirdly, the article discusses two contexts in which extra-ordinary sacrifices were made. Finally, the examples presented are analysed showing how in the Roman houses there were not only one kind of sacrifice and only one space to do it, but, instead, different sacred places and multiple ritual activities, related with specific events and carried on until the late antiquity.
