Differently from what happens for mitigation actions, which acts on a vast scale, adaptation processes and projects must be localized and site specific. Because of this, the Iuav University of Venice, through the Planning & Climate Change LAB, has developed a series of skills to study physical and social properties, also with new technologies, to identify the real vulnerability of a place and the risk for the population that lives in that territory. Based on this analysis, different scale actions are then proposed in different urban areas to respond to various impacts, both through the mainstreaming of policies, and with concrete modifications of urban environments towards a more climate proof and resilient territories and a more conscious and sustainable planning and governance.

Abstract
Differently from what happens for mitigation actions, which acts on a vast scale, adaptation processes and projects must be localized and site specific. Because of this, the Iuav University of Venice, through the Planning & Climate Change LAB, has developed a series of skills to study physical and social properties, also with new technologies, to identify the real vulnerability of a place and the risk for the population that lives in that territory. Based on this analysis, different scale actions are then proposed in different urban areas to respond to various impacts, both through the mainstreaming of policies, and with concrete modifications of urban environments towards a more climate proof and resilient territories and a more conscious and sustainable planning and governance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
