Abstract

In this study, it is validated the primitive hypothesis of a world constructed, according to political-social logics, in which the border wall becomes a useful machine to orchestrate the relationships between subjects inside and outside the same state district. In the contemporary world scene it is observed that starting from a first race to the much acclaimed globalization, we have clashed with the growing construction of border walls by countries moved by Fear walls of the process of overcoming territorial borders as a potential threat to the identity of place and also of pandemic danger of individual healthcare. How far this monumentalization of the limit can go, it is the question to which we are called to answer since the barriers advance inexorably proving increasingly narrow enough so to engulf us in a short circuit that proclaims the victory of the limit and reduces the our daily in small shreds of spatiality. It is agreed that the territory is certainly not an immovable element but can be altered in time and space. Therefore, a more in-depth geo-political knowledge is needed today since we risk losing ourselves in a dangerous virtual vortex and confusing that limit value as a useful place only to guarantee the safety of a place that is multiplying on different scales, first territorial and then even individuals. In this scenario this research takes its steps in particular: starting from a wide-ranging cartographic survey of all the walls that divide the world, in steadily increasing, proceeds through an interdisciplinary assessment in which is interpreted the border space as a narrative beginning, as a contact infrastructure. Then mapping begins as an operating research tool in the analysis and in the architectural design. In fact, it determines the design reason oriented to a conceptualization that goes beyond the questions strictly linked to the constructive structure of the organizational-defensive structure and it suggests a study capable of explaining the elements, processes and relations between territorial countries, in their organization-territorial, and the structures defensive border that constantly change and reformulate. Therefore, it is outlined a reformulation of the synergistic relationship between individual and territory in an antinomic game of actions and reactions in which the basic structure assumes reticular trend and the contradictory is accepted as an authentic force through which to interpret this singular urbanity poised between structural and natural, stable and temporary which is taking shape not as an addition product but rather an element of it that is structured in the coexistence of opposites and resolves itself in the understanding of the place. It therefore appears an urban-territory reality made up of multitudes of hybrid and inclusive spaces from which we can renegotiate spatial, social and economic relationships and then an urban architectural development born 'from below'. An opportunity to be able to critically trace conscious scenarios of the urban and territorial metamorphosis underway today, and capable of fueling change starting from public and private actions.
