A considerable corpus of drawings by Giacomo Quarenghi – who worked between the 18th and the 19th century is preserved. It includes vedute, capricci, architectural projects set in landscapes. Despite the fact that Quarenghi’s drawings are well studied, the analysis of the relationship between landscape, architecture, temporality and memory opens up new research directions. The aim of this paper is to reflect on this subject and on the synchronism between landscape and architecture.
