Cose che si possono mostrare meglio con le figure. Analisi sinsemica degli anelli trinitari nel Liber Figurarum di Gioacchino da Fiore

The research is based on the analysis of a Figura (The Trinitarian Rings) from Joachim of Fiore's Liber Figurarum. The hypothesis is that this image is an example of a synsemic method of text construction and of the overcoming of a sharp distinction between alphabetical and visual dimension of writing. This form of integrated visual-spatial writing and the practical solutions adopted by the extender of the Figura are useful for the practice of communication design; in particular for information design and non fiction illustration.
