The paper aims to analyze the role of abandonment in the San Michele Arcangelo church in Brendola (Vicenza), today known as the ‘Incompiuta’ (Unfinished). Designed by the engineer-architect Fausto Franco in the 1930s, the church construction was abandoned - due to economic problems - trigger- ing a progressive process of acknowledgment of the church as common cultural heritage for the com- munity. The research delineates a methodology of analysis for abandoned heritage based on data digitization and multi-level stakeholders’ interaction to identify conservation strategies.
