On 5 August, the Board of Ferrovie dello Stato awarded the contract to build new high-speed trains (total value 1.2 billion euros) to the AnsaldoBreda-Bombardier group. These trains should become operative from the end of 2012. Bertone is responsible for the styling and engineering of the Zefiro V300, 50 of which have been ordered.
