The contribution concerns the improvement of the management of existing material resources due to the presence of a considerable amount of abandoned buildings components that, at the end of their useful life, are stored for a long time or are inadequately managed. The strategy considered involves the combined use of renewable materials and of recycled concrete already produced, avoiding the use of new materials resources to be exhausted. Tests have been conducted on concrete cubes prepared using different percentages of recycled aggregate from a prefabricated structure recently demolished in Mantua which has not been valorised either during the life of the building or at the end of its useful life. The results highlight the possibility of producing concrete with 60% of recycled aggregate obtaining a strength slightly lower than those that would have been received with natural aggregates, although the percentage is higher than the 30% limit imposed by national standards. Comparison with other outcomes in the literature, the hypothesis involves the use of concrete with high percentages of recycled aggregate as structural reinforcement, fire protection of elements and cladding in a system combining wood and recycled concrete, which allows the best properties of the two materials to be exploited.

Abstract
Comparison with other outcomes in the literature, the hypothesis involves the use of concrete with high percentages of recycled aggregate as structural reinforcement, fire protection of elements and cladding in a system combining wood and recycled concrete, which allows the best properties of the two materials to be exploited.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
