Abstract

If any advantage resides in energy crises, it is precisely that of reorienting ourselves within a territory and an environment with which we are losing all kinds of contact. Starting again from the domestic scale to formulate new attitudes to self-sufficiency has several reasons, from the numerical incidence of residential buildings on the built heritage to the domestic dimension as the privileged place in which, more than elsewhere, the habits of everyday life are settled. The objective is twofold, on the one hand pointing to a slower but more solid ecological transformation; on the other hand to an equally slow but fundamental social transformation, which passes through the recovery of lost skills to regain within the current human model of homo consumens the autonomy and freedom of homo faber.
