This study explores interdisciplinary methods for assessing the vulnerability of built heritage in order to mitigate risk and improve resilience. The approach integrates Architectural History, Conservation, Archaeology, and Structural Engineering to develop a comprehensive understanding of historic buildings and support informed intervention strategies. The research emphasizes the importance of combining historical investigation with material, stratigraphic, and structural analyses to create interpretative models closely aligned with the building’s physical reality. These models guide surveys, validate structural assessments, and support preventive conservation and intervention planning. The case study focuses on Palazzo Barberis–Rusca in Follina (Treviso), whose complex history of demolitions, additions, and transformations demonstrates the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary approach in evaluating structural vulnerability.

Abstract
This study explores interdisciplinary methods for assessing the vulnerability of built heritage in order to mitigate risk and improve resilience. The approach integrates Architectural History, Conservation, Archaeology, and Structural Engineering to develop a comprehensive understanding of historic buildings and support informed intervention strategies. The research emphasizes the importance of combining historical investigation with material, stratigraphic, and structural analyses to create interpretative models closely aligned with the building’s physical reality. These models guide surveys, validate structural assessments, and support preventive conservation and intervention planning. The case study focuses on Palazzo Barberis–Rusca in Follina (Treviso), whose complex history of demolitions, additions, and transformations demonstrates the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary approach in evaluating structural vulnerability.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
