Abstract
Regarding the theme of the self-portrait as an artistic genre, numerous figures have engaged with the challenge, asserting themselves through a narrative that has had to grapple with self-perception and its translation into a visual image capable of articulating their own story, thereby contributing to the construction of the individual’s identity. Inevitably influenced by external expectations, the resulting image reflects and records the historical moments in which it was produced. In this arduous and often contradictory quest for a more or less accurate likeness, methods of representation played a role in how the individual’s features, intended for external observation, were fixed onto a medium, whether physical or digital. In today’s increasingly virtual and interactive society, the creation of an ‘alternative’ constructed and designed identity has become accessible to all through artificial intelligence. This paper aims to explore the potential offered by analog and digital representational tools, and their hybridization, in the process of constructing and designing a mutable identity that incorporates the third dimension and can be controlled and updated through 3D modelling.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
