The paper presents results of extensive non-destructive testing on historic buildings and monuments just after a relevant seismic event. Each of the case studies - involving multi-leaf stone masonry - is of great interest because of its social and/or artistic importance and severe damage. The raised information allowed to evaluate the general quality of historic masonry walls in L'Aquila, in view of restoration, and in some cases the building's behaviour under the action of earthquake. Expressions of the sonic velocity and dynamic modulus of elasticity were also drawn from the results.

Abstract
The paper presents results of extensive non-destructive testing on historic buildings and monuments just after a relevant seismic event. Each of the case studies - involving multi-leaf stone masonry - is of great interest because of its social and/or artistic importance and severe damage. The raised information allowed to evaluate the general quality of historic masonry walls in L'Aquila, in view of restoration, and in some cases the building's behaviour under the action of earthquake. Expressions of the sonic velocity and dynamic modulus of elasticity were also drawn from the results.File in questo prodotto:
