This paper presents a semiotic analysis of the Bolzano train station, developed through a field etnosemiotic research and aimed to base on “lived experience” the philosophical questioning on contemporary biopolitics’ forms and strategies. Building on a minimal theoretical framework, the study attempts to perform an analytics of power “without prejudices”, which starts from the observation of the human and non-human bodies that inhabit the station, in order to appreciate the multitude of semiotic forms that underlie the experience of the station’s spaces, to examine their possible contradiction, to question their dialectical coexistence, to finally highlight the diagrams of socio-cultural and historical-political mutations of which the station proves to be the heterotopic reverse.

Abstract
This paper presents a semiotic analysis of the Bolzano train station, developed through a field etnosemiotic research and aimed to base on “lived experience” the philosophical questioning on contemporary biopolitics’ forms and strategies. Building on a minimal theoretical framework, the study attempts to perform an analytics of power “without prejudices”, which starts from the observation of the human and non-human bodies that inhabit the station, in order to appreciate the multitude of semiotic forms that underlie the experience of the station’s spaces, to examine their possible contradiction, to question their dialectical coexistence, to finally highlight the diagrams of socio-cultural and historical-political mutations of which the station proves to be the heterotopic reverse.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
