Conoscenza e Conservazione dei radiciamenti lignei nelle murature. Tecnologia e diffusione di un sapere tecnico nelle architetture fortificate della Provincia Autonoma di Trento

The use of structurally effective hybrid systems in masonry and wood is part of a very ancient technological experimentation which has given different results and of which traces can be found in historical documents. The diffusion of these techniques is often recognized in a systematic way in the seismic area, but the increase in the construction quality, given by the union of the two materials, allows to improve the architectures behavior not only in the case of horizontal actions but also for the vertical loads. For these reasons, the diffusion of this technical knowledge is also found in regions with low seismic risk such as Trentino-Alto Adige. In this paper some cases found in medieval fortifications of the Autonomous Province of Trento will be discussed.
